It’s the “off-season” at Vermont ski areas, which means outdoor music, barbecues, and other family-friendly summer events are abound. We pulled together a list of a few of our favorites.
Bolton Valley Resort – Live Music on the Lawn
Friday Nights June 24-August 26, 2022
Dig your toes into the grass and kick off the weekend with live music and sunsets at Bolton Valley’s Live Music on the Lawn. Pick up some food from on of the on-mountain restaurants. Spend your Friday night enjoying live music from fantastic artists while the kids dance, jump, and run around. Want to make a day of it? Take a family hike beforehand!
Mount Snow – Base Area Block Party
Friday Nights, June 3-September 30, 2022
Celebrate summer at the Mount Snow Base Area Block Party. Every Friday throughout the summer, Mount Snow will have live music, food, yard games, and more from 4-7pm in the Main Base Area. Bring your folding chair and enjoy a scoop of ice cream while celebrating the start of a great weekend in Vermont.
Okemo Mountain Resort – Jackson Gore Concert Series
Friday Nights, July 1-September 2, 2022
The Jackson Gore Concert Series at Okemo Mountain has been a summer staple. Bring the blanket and chairs for music overlooking the mountain. Enjoy a traditional barbecue from Coleman Brook Tavern or tacos from the new Taqueria. Listen to music and enjoy mountain coaster rides, mini golf, and more at the Adventure Zone until dusk.
Stowe Mountain Resort – Weekends on the Green
Friday Nights, July 1-September 9, 2022
Every Friday night the green at Stowe comes alive with music, movies, food, and fun. The Village Green hosts an artisan market showcasing local Vermont makers while live music plays between 4 and 7pm. Kids can dance, play lawn games, and enjoy the interactive displays before grabbing some dinner from one of the local food trucks and settling into a family movie on the lawn.
Smugglers’ Notch – July 4th Celebration
July 4, 2022
Celebrate 4th of July with a full day of activities at Smugglers’ Notch and in the town of Jeffersonville. The day kicks off with a parade followed by live music, food, games, and more during the Jeffersonville Main Street Celebration. Take a resort shuttle back to the mountain for live music from the Vermont National Guard 40th Army Band and fireworks at dusk.
Jay Peak Resort – Jeezum Crow Festival
July 8-9, 2022
Jay Peak is celebrating the return of Jeezum Crow after its pandemic hiatus since 2019. The multi-day music festival has been named by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Top 10 Summer event. Taking place at the resort’s outdoor Stateside Amphitheater, enjoy the summer weather and live music from seven different artists including G Love & Special Sauce, and Dark Star Orchestra. Ticket and lodging packages are available to turn make a weekend out of it.
Burke Mountain Resort – Vermont Symphony Orchestra

The Vermont Symphony Orchestra makes its way to the mountains during its summer festival tour. Toss out a blanket, break out the picnic basket, and introduce your family to the joy of orchestral music. This summer’s program offers a wide array of compositions from well-known composers such as John Williams and Leonard Bernstein, as well as newer works. The night closes with a festive light show to celebrate the American orchestral tradition.
Sugarbush Mountain Resort – Trout Day

Killington Mountain Resort – Maxxis Eastern States Cup
August 6-7, 2022
The Maxxis Eastern States Cup is returning to Killington with Enduro and Downhill races. Riders of all ages through professionals will race down Killington’s gnarly terrain. Want to inspire your little ripper? Enjoy the show and watch how the pros do it!
Stratton Mountain Resort – Kids Blues & Brews/Fire Tower Hike

Blues, Brews, & BBQ, Stratton’s annual beer fest event celebrating the end of summer isn’t just for the 21+ crowd anymore. Parents can go and enjoy the festival while kids ages 5-12 enjoy a festival of their own! Drop the kids off for crafts, games, and snacks with their peers. Do your kids want more adventure? Sign them up for the kids hike to the fire tower. Kids age 5-12 will join their guides and take the gondola to the summit. At the top they’ll make the three quarter mile trek out to the fire tower for incredible views of Vermont. Children must be registered in advance for either program and space is limited.
