Vermont just got over a foot of new snow, but warm weather is around the corner. That means it’s time for fun spring events at ski resorts all over the state. Here are just a few.
Vertical Challenge at Bromley
March 17, 2024
Racer ready? The Vertical Challenge is a free, fun race for all ages and abilities, skiers and snowboards. Hit the gates and then check out the free product samples in the base area. The festival atmosphere and relaxed race brings families back year after year to resorts all over New England.
Reggaefest and Duct Tape Derby at Mount Snow
March 23-24, 2024
Reggaefest is back at Mount Snow with live music at the Main Base area and Carinthia throughout the weekend to add some flare to your spring turns. Enjoy live music and traditional spring antics with the Sink or Swim Pond Skim on Saturday and the Duct Tape Derby on Sunday.
Glen Ellen Retro Events Day at Sugarbush
March 30, 2024
Sugarbush’s Mount Ellen is celebrating its 60th anniversary this winter and celebrating with a series of events, including this one for a trip down memory lane. Take the family out to watch some good old fashioned sloshwicking (racing up the mountain with one snowshoe, one ski, and a broom) and the gelandesprung (ski jumping).
Golden Watermelon Hunt at Stratton
March 31, 2024
I have to admit, I remember this one from when I was a kid. Clues will be released every hour online or collected from Guest Services until the watermelon is found. So grab the kids and hit the slopes on the hunt for the Golden Watermelon. The lucky skier or rider who finds it hidden around the slopes can win a seasons pass for the ‘24-’25 winter season and enjoy a few slices of watermelon.
The Snowmelt: Slush Cup and Spring Fling at Okemo
April 6, 2024
Okemo celebrates the arrival of spring at The Snowmelt. And what better way to celebrate than with the annual spring tradition of skiing or riding across a giant puddle. Will you sink or will you swim? Not ready to go for a dip? A pond skim is an excellent spectator sport.
Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge at Killington
April 6, 2024
The Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge is a personal favorite. If you have an affinity for spring bump skiing enter this amateur event and participate in one of the greatest spring competitions on snow. If moguls aren’t your thing, watching them should be because some skiers break out the retro gear and go big in the bumps.
