It’s the holiday week in Vermont and that means…..torchlight parades, family activities, and general holiday shenanigans at resorts across Vermont! Planning a visit to Vermont this holiday season, or live locally and want to celebrate? We’ve pulled together a list of some of the best family holiday events at Vermont ski areas during the break.

Tubing at Okemo
Tubing and tunes are great for the whole family.

Tube to the Tunes at Okemo Mountain Resort
December 27 and 29

Slidin’ tubes and spinnin’ tunes. The tubing lanes at Okemo’s Jackson Gore are open! On December 27 and 29, DJ Dave will be rocking out under the lights. Take the family for an après slide and dance the early evening away before dinner.

star gazing
There is nothing like a clear winter night for star viewing.

Family Stargazing Night at Sugarbush Mountain Resort
December 28 and 29

This holiday week will feature a new moon, the perfect time to view the night sky in all its glory! My toddler is usually in bed before dark during the summer, so winter is the perfect time to take her out and explore all the constellations. Inspire your own budding astronomer before enjoying a round of hot chocolate at the fire pit.

Kids’ Corner Holiday Activities at Killington Mountain Resort
December 28-30

Spend the day on the mountain and then head to the Snowshed Base Lodge at Killington for fun, holiday-themed activities including cookie decorating, coloring, board games, sensory bottle decorating and more!

Family Trivia Night at Burke Mountain Resort
December 29

George Washington! Pickles! FORTY TWO! It’s family trivia night at Burke Mountain. Trivia was always one of this mama’s personal favorite games, so Burke Mountain’s family trivia night is right up my alley. Featuring food specials for the family and beer specials for the parents from Kona Brewing Co., a night of trivia in the day lodge is sure to be a good time.

Grommet Jam, Mount Snow
Gross get down at the Mount Snow Grommet Jam

Grommet Jam at Mount Snow
December 30

Is your little shredder in the park all day? Let them learn a few things and then show off their skills at Mount Snow’s Grommet Jam. The first in a series, the Grommet Jam is a great way for kids ages 7-12 to get out and learn a few park skills from Mount Snow’s coaches and instructors before competing in a fun park competition.

Torchlight parade at Stratton
Nothing say “family holiday event” like fireworks and torchlight parade in Vermont!

Kids Night Out at Stratton Mountain Resort
December 31

It’s the last day of the year, and maybe the parents could use a night out. Not to worry, Stratton has the kids (ages 7-13) covered with their New Year’s Eve Kids Night Out. Kids will hang out at the tube park, make crafts, and have a pizza party while parents do whatever they want! Scoop the kids back up at 8:15, just in time to catch the torchlight parade and fireworks show and kick off 2023. Reservations are required, so book this one early!
