Summer is Vermont’s time to shine! The snow has melted and blades of green grass are filling up the slopes of Vermont’s ski resorts. This is a sure sign that summer activities like mountain biking, hiking, disc golf, scenic chair lift rides, and more have begun. Check out these summer adventures. We are sure you will find one (or more) for everyone in your family to enjoy.
Bolton Valley

Bolton Valley is expanding its lift-served mountain biking for the 2022 summer season and adding top to bottom beginner terrain, along with intermediate flow, hybrid, and jump trails. Those with a mountain bike pass can access the terrain under pedal power seven days per week, but if you want a lift up, lift service is open three days per week from Memorial Day until the end of June, five days per week in July, and August, and then three days per week again after Labor Day. Want to get your steps in, Bolton’s hiking routes lead to amazing vistas and tons of fun.
Bromley Mountain
Mountain Adventure Park: Open
Treetop Adventure Course: Open
Bromley’s sun mountain is even sunnier in summer with the Mountain Adventure Park and Treetop Adventure Course to keep the entire family entertained. Bromley’s offerings include activities such as the alpine slide, giant swing, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, inflatables, and more. The waterslide, mini-golf, and scenic chairlift rides are getting some early season maintenance and are scheduled to open in July.
Burke Mountain
Mountain Biking: Open
Beginners and experts alike can find common terrain at Burke. With both lift-served and cross-country terrain connecting to the famous Kingdom Trails, there’s plenty to get your wheels spinning. Burke is open Thursday-Sunday and on select holiday Mondays through October 10.
Jay Peak Resort

Jay Peak, the terminus of the Long Trail, has long been home to summer activities such as the waterpark, ice rink, golf, and disc golf. This summer, the resort is expanding its offerings to include a brand-new mountain biking pump track to complement its cross-country trails. The best part? Access to the pump track and trails are free! Just complete a waiver online or in person when you arrive.
Killington Mountain Resort

Scenic Gondola Rides: Open June 23
Killington is the only mountain in Vermont that regularly opens its mountain bike operations before they close down skiing and riding for the season. Mountain biking is currently open at Snowshed, with Ramshead operations opening on June 10. Gondola service, including scenic rides, will open on June 23. Killington’s adventure park also kicked off summer before winter was over and will operate weekends until June 23, when they will open Thu-Mon for the season.
Magic Mountain
Disc Golf: Open
Fancy yourself a disc golfer? The Magic Mountain National Disc Golf Course opened May 14 and is open daily through October 31. Plus, Magic offers a family season pass, making sure you can get the whole family out throughout the season, or multiple times during a visit, for just $250.
Mount Snow

Scenic Chairlift Rides: Open Fri-Sun
Mount Snow has opened their 18-hole golf course for the season and kicked off lift-served mountain biking for the season. New to downhill? Check out Gateway, one of the longest introductory trails in the east. Plus, if you’re on the trail regularly, you can grab a three-mountain pass and ride at Mount Snow, Okemo, and Mount Sunapee. Not a biker? Enjoy scenic chairlift rides up the Bluebird Express to the summit for 360-degree views.
Okemo Mountain

Adventure Zone: Opens June 16, Thurs-Mon
Okemo Mountain Resort opens for the summer on June 16. The Adventure Zone, which features activities such as the Sawyer’s Sweep zip line, Haulback challenge course, disc golf, mountain coaster, and more, includes activities for the entire family. Head over to the main base lodge to hit the Evolution Bike Park.

Smuggler’s Notch is known for family fun and their summer offerings are no different. Enjoy the scenery on guided hikes that range from two-hour nature walks to all-day summit excursions. Cool off with a dip into one of their eight pools complete with waterslides.

Looking for a view? Head up the auto toll road at Stowe for views from 3,850 feet. The switchback drive is scenic all the way up. No car? Starting June 17, take the gondola for a scenic ride to the Cliff House Restaurant for lunch. If you need a bit more action, starting June 25, get climbing at the Stowe Rocks climbing wall.

Paintball, ATVs, mountain biking, and yoga, all at Stratton Mountain. In addition to the 27-hole golf course and more than five miles of mountain biking, Stratton offers kayak rentals so you can get out on the local waterways and mountaintop yoga for a calming breath at the summit before heading out to paintball with the kids.
